From Ghandruk village, enjoy breathtaking views of Annapurna South (7,219m), Hiunchuli (6,441m), Gangapurna (7,455m), and the iconic Machhapuchhre (6,993m). The sunrise over these peaks is particularly spectacular. The village sits on a ridge facing north towards the mountains, offering unobstructed panoramic views.

Welcome to Kathmandu: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport where our representative will welcome you and transfer to your hotel. After check-in and refreshment, we'll have a short briefing about the trek. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu. You can do last-minute shopping for trekking gear or simply relax at the hotel. In the evening, enjoy welcome dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant with cultural program.

Kathmandu Heritage Tour: After breakfast, embark on a full-day guided tour of Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visit Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) for panoramic city views, then proceed to Patan Durbar Square to admire ancient Newari architecture. After lunch, explore Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples, and Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in Nepal. Evening free for final trek preparation. Optional briefing on trekking essentials and packing check.

After lunch, continue trek to Pothana (1.5 hours) through traditional villages. Check into teahouse and enjoy sunset views over Annapurna range. Evening briefing about upcoming trek days.

To Gurung Village: Early morning wake-up for sunrise views. After breakfast, descend through oak and rhododendron forests to Tolka village. Cross Modi Khola river and begin gradual ascent to Landruk village (1,640m). Enjoy lunch with views of Annapurna South. After lunch, continue trek along stone-paved trail to Ghandruk (2 hours). Arrive at Ghandruk - one of Nepal's largest and most beautiful Gurung villages. Check into traditional teahouse. Visit Gurung Museum and traditional houses. Optional cultural dance performance in evening.

Morning in Ghandruk & Return: Early morning sunrise viewing over Annapurna range - the highlight of the trek. Begin descent to Nayapul (3-4 hours) via beautiful terraced fields and traditional villages. Drive to Pokhara airport (1.5 hours). Fly back to Kathmandu (25 minutes). Transfer to hotel. Evening farewell dinner celebrating successful trek completion. Share experiences and photos with group.

Optional: If you have late flight, day use room can be arranged (additional cost) or we can arrange additional sightseeing/shopping.

Special cultural experience during major festivals: Dashain (Sept/Oct) and Tihar (Oct/Nov). Experience village festivals with traditional celebrations. Christmas and New Year departures also available. Festival tours may include participation in local celebrations.
We follow ethical trekking practices. Each porter carries maximum 15kg luggage. We provide proper equipment, clothing, insurance, and wages to our porters. One porter is provided for every two trekkers. You only need to carry daypack with essentials (water, camera, jacket).

Gurungs are known for their hospitality and rich cultural heritage. They live in stone houses with slate roofs, practice agriculture and animal husbandry. Many Gurungs serve in the British and Indian Gurkha regiments. Their traditional dress includes ghurung bangles and distinct woolen jackets.
The museum in Ghandruk showcases Gurung history, culture, and traditions. Displays include traditional clothing, agricultural tools, weapons, household items, and photographs of Gurkha soldiers. Entry fee supports local community development. Guided tours available.
